A Sunny Day at the Beach with Mum, Dad, and Leo

Hi! It’s me, Alice!
Today was the happiest day because Mum and Dad took Leo and me to the beach! I grabbed my red bucket, Leo grabbed his giant shovel, and Dad packed the snacks—he always brings too many, but I don’t mind.

When we got to the sand, Mum picked a perfect spot for our castle. Dad said we needed a “construction plan,” but Leo just started digging a giant hole. Dad laughed and helped him make it the “moat.”

I filled my bucket with sand and made the first tower. Leo tried to copy me, but he got distracted when a little crab walked past. He yelled, “It’s guarding our castle!” Mum told him to let the crab do its own thing before it pinched his paws. Leo nodded very seriously.

Dad showed me how to pack the sand tighter so the towers didn’t crumble. Mum collected seashells to decorate the castle, and Leo found a shiny one and said it was “royal treasure.” We put it right on top.

After the castle was finished, Dad lifted me up so I could see it from high up. “Looks like a princess castle,” he said. Leo said it looked like a “lion kingdom,” so we agreed it could be both.

Then we went to the water to splash. Leo ran straight in and screamed when the cold waves touched him. Dad pretended the waves were chasing him, and Leo laughed so hard he fell over. Mum held my hand and helped me step into the water slowly—it tickled my toes!

When it was time to go, Dad took a picture of our castle. Leo gave it a proud roar, and I told the ocean to be gentle with it. Mum said the tide might take it later, but that’s okay—we’ll build another one next time.

I love the beach. And I love days with Mum, Dad, and Leo even more.
